New General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

The Legends Association responds to the new legislation on personal protection and processing of personal data (GDPR) that came into effect on May 25, 2018 in the European Economic Area. The privacy of our members has always been a key issue and we are concerned about the security of their information. Here you can see what information the Legends Association keeps with them and why.

What information does the Legend Association store?

The association only stores the information that the members themselves write down when they register for the Legends association. This information is: name, social security number, address, email address and phone number. Members themselves decide whether they want to go to the company's email list, but it is a separate list unrelated to the member number itself.

The association's membership list is kept by the manager and he has access to it together with other staff. Board members also have access to the membership number. The organization never sends a membership report by e-mail or reproduces it in any way. Once a year, payment requests due to optional payment notes are sent to the home bank of the members of the Legends association, and this is done in cooperation with the association's commercial bank.

Why does the Legends Association keep the information of its members?

Primarily to enforce the Association's laws, but according to they are only registered members with the right to sit and vote at the Association's general meetings and membership meetings. Information is also stored for the purpose of contacting members and for the distribution of membership certificates. Information is also stored to book advice and education, for example.

Where can I see my information at the Legends Association?

You can send us an email at sli@sli.is and we will let you know what information is recorded and where. We strive to respond to these requests within a week. To facilitate processing, we ask you to mark the email "My information at the Legends association.

Does the Legend Association share information?

No, never. As mentioned before, only employees and board members have access to the document containing the membership list of the Legends Association. The document is only saved in one document. The only information that the association shares is statistical information, such as the number of people at events, the number of people who seek advice, the number of people who receive education, etc. This information is not traceable to individuals. However, it is necessary to bear in mind the points mentioned earlier, i.e. national register operation and collection of membership fees.

Points that the Legends Association always keeps in mind:

The Legend Association guarantees to guard information about its members carefully and to treat it as confidential information, just as the law of the association stipulates. will not hand over members' contact information to third parties and will never use the information except to have moderate and honest communication with members. The Legends Association knows that the members themselves (not the Legends Association) own their personal information and have access to it if they so choose. The Legends Association will delete the member's account their own if they are abolished in their current form.
